REVIEW: We Are The Hanged Many – Douglas Lindsay

Everyone has a take on reality television whether they love it, hate it or are just plain apathetic about it. Recently released convict Gordon Durrant has somehow missed out on any reference to that melee of the modern media as it becomes a bane to DCI Robert Jericho. Both unwittingly find their way into this absurd, surreal world from seemingly differing directions. The author drew me in with Jericho’s depressive yet oddly active social life and unofficial investigation into a series of Tarot cards that begin arriving in his mail. The pace picks up as he follows the trials of conducting a real murder investigation while on a reality TV set and through at times gruesome and others almost kharmic violence.I prefer a story open ended enough to leave me with a few questions rather than one wrapped up too neatly. This book will leave you questioning much and looking forward to a follow up.

You will not though be left wondering whether the reality tv crew prevails in controlling the murder investigation. Without giving spoilers, it is well worth finding out.

Find it at Amazon US or Amazon UK. Aside from access to the book (in this case), I receive no compensation for any reviews made on this blog or elsewhere.
